Gladys Omage is a dual-licensed Canadian lawyer, notary public, and bestselling author with about twenty years of legal experience across private practice, government agencies, and nonprofit sectors. Gladys has served in senior policy and advisory roles within the Government of Canada and has helped shape legislative and regulatory reforms with equity at their core. She is called to both the Nigerian Bar and the Ontario Bar and admitted to practice law in Ontario, Canada and Nigeria. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) , Law Society of Ontario(LSO), the International Bar Association (IBA), International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) amongst others.
Gladys is the founder at GOLEGAL, a global law corporation with presence in North America (Canada) and Africa (Nigeria). Her area of specialization includes AI, law and technology, immigration, employment, corporate and business law, diaspora real estate and medical tourism, and international affairs. Gladys provides strategic, personalized legal support tailored to client’s unique needs and specific goals, helping clients make informed decisions with clarity and confidence. With deep expertise, Gladys has supported and advised individuals, businesses, government agencies, startups, and organizations navigating complex legal systems, issues, and cross-border challenges.
Her academic background includes a Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a specialization in Law and Technology from the University of Ottawa, a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the prestigious Carleton University’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, and both Master and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Benin. She also holds several certifications in law and project management. Her professional journey includes key roles within several Canadian federal departments, including the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED).
Gladys is the co-author of The Art and Essentials of Judgment Writing, a widely endorsed legal text used for the training of judges, and mentorship of early-career legal professionals. A passionate advocate for access to justice, Gladys has supported public legal education, facilitated leadership training, and advised on diversity and inclusion strategies within and outside of government. Gladys is an accomplished and dedicated business lawyer with a passion for helping clients navigate the complexities of the law with clarity and confidence.
